The muscle is the soft tissue that works with the skeletal system to perform functions. Actin and myosin are the structure that plays role in muscle contraction.

Muscles of the body are made up of myofibrils, fibers, sarcomere cells, fascicles and actin and myosin.  Actin and myosin are the Myofilaments that plays a major role in muscle contraction.

Actin and myosin are the spherical and the motor proteins respectively, that generates force and the muscle to contract. The conformational structure of the Myofilaments along with the ATP allows the muscles to contract.

The repetitive binding process and the ATP hydrolyzation allows the muscle to contract and do the actions with respect to the skeletal system.

Therefore, actin and myosin (Myofilaments) allow muscle contraction.

Actin and myosin play an important role in muscles contraction. The repetitive structure of actin and myosin while hydrolyzing ATP brings a conformational change in shape of protein that exerts force against actin. ADP leads to myosin rigor and then a new ATP unbinds myosin from actin. The combined effect of this repetitive binding and releasing of myosin and actin causes the muscle contraction.
