What does muscular strength measure?

Muscular strength determines the amount of force, which a group of muscle or muscle can impart in a single attempt. It determines how much weight can be lifted at the time of a contraction, however, it does not determine how many repetitions one can perform.  

The 1RM or the one-repetition maximum test refers to an exercise regime, in which an individual does one repetition of a solitary exercise to witness how much weight he or she can lift. It is the standard test that helps in determining the strength of the muscle.
