Why do children suffer more water injuries and death the the average

Because children always drop into the water too hard from a very high altitude which would cause the particles to jump back up and basically injure/kill them.

in the US an average 3,536 people died from drowning annually from 2005 to 2014

i'm pretty sure questions like these aren't allowd.   but, sure.   i can and talk : ))
