A concussion is a trauma-induced functional neurologic deficit.

Any force blow to the head or any body part which results in fast movement of the head can cause changes in the function's of one's brain. Concussion doesn't require a direct blow to the head, but any strong force that bumps the brain strong enough, that the hit can affect brain's function.
