What do institutions like religion and politics play roles in creating or maintaining beliefs and preconceived notions?

Institutions such as the religion as well as politics do play a role in having beliefs as they would serve as guidelines for people on what to believe in. For instance for religion, mostly people do rely on the church teachings and those then are the ones being followed. In politics, people then do rely on the officials and give their trust in regard to having a good society.
