What is the most effective way to reduce body fat? why isn't a scale the best judge of body fat versus lean mass?

You can measure how much body fat you have by pinching the skin under your arm, and if you have more than 1 inch, you may have more body fat than is what considered healthy.  The most effective way to reduce body fat is by eating healthy foods and exercising.
