Why are the poles so much colder than areas at the equator?

As the suns rays directly fall on the equator it claims extreme hot climate .as we move far away from the equator to the poles there is very less sunlight or no sunlight this is why the areas are colder.and the sunsrays directly forces at the equator and not at the poles.

It is the doctrine that the us had the right and duty to expand throughout north america. it just means they believed they had the right to expand westward and they did! they stated with the 13 colonies and then they kept moving gaining different territories throughout the years
