What kind of plants and wildlife would most likely live on a sandy island? i would like to hear as many examples as i can!

this is actually for a book i'm writing, but i would really like a few examples of what could be in the island i'm writing about, you!

Pants such as red verbena, Abronia matimia, beach bur, ambrosia chamissionis, European beach grass,  and pampas grass. These plants grow best at the top of beach's and are able to survive due to there small leaves and dull color which help to reflect the light from the hot sun.
