Epic of Gilgamesh is considered to be the first surviving piece of literature, describing a lot about the ancient world and the beliefs. It was written in Mesopotamia and it tells the story of the Sumerian epic about Gilgamesh who was king of Uruk. Following him and his friend Enkidu, we learn about their quests and search for immortality. The texts date back to 2100 BC, although it was refilled later, around 12the century BC. The fragments were found all over ancient Mesopotamia, testifying of how popular the piece was. Not only we can learn a lot about the mythical ideas of the king, but also about the life of people at that time, as well as see how they referred to emotions, sexuality, life, and loss.

The Egyptian pyramids are large pyramid-shaped architectural masterpieces dating back to ancient Egypt. They were used as the tombs for the kings and pharaohs during the Old and Middle Kingdom (from around 2700 BC to 1600 BC). Pyramids are important because of their masterful architecture and largeness – it is still not entirely confirmed how did Egyptians manage to make them. The most famous examples of pyramids are the pyramids of Giza. They were included in the ancient seven wonders, and they are the only ones still existing out of them.
