Which of the following statements describes how a tube of toothpaste or bottle of liquid soap can be like an erupting volcano when it’s squeezed?
1. When squeezed, pressure builds in a plugged container. The pressure will continue to build until the pressure is great enough to pop the plug.
2. When squeezed, toothpaste oozes from little cracks in the toothpaste tube. It usually doesn’t harden and clog, so pressure does not build up there.
