It was first published by the German-Russian climatologist Wladimir Köppen (1846–1940) in 1884, with several later modifications by Köppen, notably in 1918 and 1936. So, there are many groups but im going to just do the basics. A is moderate because as you go near water, land attracts  heat more than water because of waters specific heat captivity. So the temperature is cooler than the land farther away from the ocean. B is heat and rain because that is typical weather in those areas. C is heat and dryness because there like no rain. Its all ways hot and dry. And finally, d. D is ice year round because its cold and that would make more sense .
