The earth is divided into three main zones of torrid, tropic and temperate zone. These zones are directly impacted by the weather patterns developed by the unequal heating and cooling of land and water mass by the sun, like places near the equator get the maximum amount of solvation energy in the form 90 degree waves. Place around the poles that are at an angle of 66.5 North and south get inclined rays and thus obscura rays don't last for long on this latitude and hence have 5-6 hours of sunshine. Thus equator has low pressure and poles have high pressure.
