The atmosphere is relativiely boring (standard atmosphere) along a coast. your location is 50km inland. as the environmentment transitions from night to day, 15k of heating occurs 50km inland and within the lowest 2km of the atmosphere. no such heating occurs 100km away from your location offshore. you can assume that the coast is oriented in a perfect north-to-south direction. estimate the magnitude and direction of the change in geostrophic wind 2km above the surface. you'll have to make assumptions about the pressure at the surface and the pressure at 2km. you will have to use the thermal wind equation and state assumptions you made.
