The person in sick role is exempted from social duties
The sick person must try to get well soon
For getting well as soon as possible, the person in sick role must seek and submit to medical care.
Thus from the fourth postulate itself it is clear that the role of medicine in society is to get a person out of a sick role which is a deviant behavior.
