1. The United States are a vast country that has numerous different geographic and weather conditions. That has resulted in the formation of numerous different types of ecosystems, with the basic ones accounting for 13 ecosystems in the borders of the country. I live in the ecosystem known as Western Forested Mountains. This ecosystem is found in the western and northwestern part of the country. being dominated by lush forests and medium richness in biodiversity.

2. The Western Forested Mountains is an ecosystem that falls in the category of the temperate ecosystems. It experiences seasons, thus it has summer, autumn, winter, and spring. The summers are pleasant, autumns and springs fresh and rainy, and the winters cold with lot of snowfall. The forest cover is dense and it dominates the ecosystem, and because of the good weather conditions the trees tend to be relatively tall, but the number of tree species is small. The fauns has medium biodiversity, with numerous different animal groups being represented, but with only one to three species in general.

3. The Western Forested Mountains ecosystem is dominated by coniferous trees. They tend to very tall trees, with some of them being the tallest in the world. Some of the species that can be found are the giant sequoia, red fir, western juniper. The animals that can be found are the cougar, coyotes, elk, snowshoe hare, lynx, owl, raven, beaver. In general, it is an ecosystem which reminds a lot to the other forested mountain ecosystems around the world, with the difference being the species, though the similarities are very big in that aspect as well.
