The glaciers are one of the numerous things that manage to cause erosion and deposition on the planet, thus being active contributes to the formation of the landscape. Despite the glaciers looking all smooth and clean, they are actually not, especially at their bottom and their sides. They actually manage to erode the and pick up lot of rocks, sediments, debris that they are in touch with, the ice traps them, and their enormous mass and force moves them along with the glaciers. That material can travel with the glaciers until the glaciers reaches its point of melting, or totally melts, traveling long distances with it. Once the glacier is melted, the material is deposited as loose, unsorted deposits, varying in size, shape, composition. All of the deposits by the glaciers are collectively called glacial till, and most often they come in the form of moraines.
