What geologic processes caused gold ore to form?

The geologic process results in formation of gold ore is called Forming Deposits.  

Gold occurs as the deposition in the fractured rocks called as the lodes. This process is commonly referred to as the forming deposits process.

When the heated hot fluids circulate through the gold bearing rocks then it picks the gold from it and sweeps it to new location by concentrating the gold elements. These concentrated loads or the gold ores are also called as the veins.
