Forestry is an important industry in both Canada and the United States. The US and Canada are leading producers of lumber products. Both countries contain large amounts of lumber as a natural resource. Another important industry that aids the economies of both countries is fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are any combustible organic material, such as oil, coal, or natural gas, that is derived from the remains of former life. Fossil fuels are important in producing the energy that powers the United States and Canada.
