A) 2/3 of Middle Eastern countries have to get water from outside their own borders

Turkey, Egypt, and Iran are the only Middle East countries that have abundant freshwater supply while 2/3 of the remaining countries rely on water from outside their borders. Jordan and Euphrates river supply water to some countries but development such as dam constructions in the source country further reduce the water supply in the already water-stressed countries.  

There have also been international complaints logged by most countries that are water-stressed, however, these are challenged on the basis that the dam constructions or any other water-related developments are necessary for domestic developments. It is claimed that the next world war in the Middle East will be over water.
