In today's world, young people have better ability to initiate positive change in their communities. This is due to their better grasps on new technologies which enable them to grow and build up their communities.
In the past, community building took time and labor. To reach out to a majority in a community used to mean you had to reach out and talk to people face to face. That was why it required a lot of efforts and hard work to make positive changes. Good examples were the civil rights movement and women right issue.
Nowadays due to new technologies such as internet and smart phones, such community building can be done much faster. Young people are familiar with those new technologies and as such are able to start and carry out such activities. They are also not afraid to make such new and bold changes through technologies as they have learnt from past movements. They know such changes are not only possible but doable with the technologies they have available today.
