Which trait is prominent in macbeth's character in acts i and ii of macbeth?

In Act II, he carries out his plan to take the crown by killing Duncan in his sleep and framing his servants for the crime. Yet he is so traumatized by his deed that Lady Macbeth helps.  His character during this scene reveals his treachery as well as his fears over what he has done.  In Act III, despite his success he is haunted by his friend Banquo and this causes him to go into a fit of rage.  His character at this part shows his worry about losing what he has gained as well as being paranoid because he suspects there are those who want to overthrow him.
