This narrative story is about the king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar,  from approximately 605 BC until approximately 562 BC.  He is considered the greatest king of the Babylon Empire and is credited with the construction of the Gardens of Babylon. In Daniel 4, Nebuchadnezzar is given another dream by God interpreted for him by Belteshazzar (Daniel) in which a warning to the king to be humble and recognize that his power, wealth, and influence were from God. Even after this interpretation he was still self-glorificating himself of what he thought he achieved by his own means so he would not recognize his pridefulness and be humble; therefore, he “was driven from men and dwelled with the beasts of the field”. (v.32)

Some figures of speech we can find in this story are:

Adjunction:  A clause or a phrase, that is added at the beginning of a sentence.  

Daniel 4.1:   Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages,… Peace be multiplied unto you.

Hperbole:  It is used to exaggerate something.

Daniel 4.11: The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven

Synecdoche: a part is used to represent a whole (times=years)

Daniel 4.23: … till seven times pass over him…

Simile:  a stated comparison (usually formed with ‘like’ or ‘as’) between two fundamental dissimilar things.

Daniel 4.33: …his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.  

These are some of the figures the author uses to make his writing in a way that it conveys meanings in a fresh and unexpected manner that we can find in this portion of the bible.
