Read the passage. pudge pudge is an american bulldog with a lot of personality. like most american bulldogs, he has a rather square head with ears that seem somewhat on the small side for such a massive cranium. his ears are indicative of his mood. pudge has an impressive vocabulary for a dog, though clearly he gets frustrated when his family does not understand him. his “give me food right now and no one gets hurt” bark, however, is unmistakable. occasionally he displays an understanding on par with at least the average high school senior, especially if the language in question involves eating poultry or going for a walk. pudge does not like to deviate from his routine. as soon as anyone gets up, he gets up, too, and utters his feed-me bark. once he eats, he has to go outside and patrol the backyard. (sorry for all the reading) which sentence is the best addition for the end of paragraph 1, based on meaning and style? the sleeping pooch's ears are so silly. when the amusing canine reclines in slumber, those pliable appendages are perpendicular to the cranial surface. the puppy's ears are up while he's off in dreamland. when he is extremely relaxed and lying on his side, his ears stick straight up.

Read the excerpt from "politics and the english language" by george orwell. by this morning’s post i have received a pamphlet dealing with conditions in germany. the author tells me that he "felt impelled” to write it. i open it at random, and here is almost the first sentence that i see: "[the allies] have an opportunity not only of achieving a radical transformation of germany’s social and political structure in such a way as to avoid a nationalistic reaction in germany itself, but at the same time of laying the foundations of a cooperative and unified europe.” which statement is correct? orwell uses an example and statistical evidence in this excerpt. orwell uses an example and a quotation for evidence in this excerpt. orwell uses hypothetical and factual evidence in this excerpt. orwell uses hypothetical and statistical evidence in this excerpt.
