All these can be summarized in the familiar expressions: “if only I listened to advice” and “what has been done cannot be undone.” This was a sad realization that the advice of the wise man should have been heeded.

This poem uses the ABCBCDAD rhyme in the first stanza. Then, in the second stanza, the rhyme used is ABCBADAD. The meaning of this poem is about advice or advice to young men/women, who as usual are not obeyed. In the end, the young man experienced exactly what was suggested.
