Which composer believed that music is all too often treated as a "narcotic," something that dulls senses rather than arouses them?

one reason summer auggie is because she is kind, and the whole "boy war" between jack will and julian was probaly thinking her to be on auggies sode and if you read auggie and me,   she was nice to auggie because julian was mean and auggie needed some freinds. hope this

the author develops a cold, and scared tone. making the reader shudder with fear, and suddenly become cold. i'm guessing that he's writing a scary novel, or maybe about a chilly december night.
