Okay, after reading paine's excerpt, i have came to the conclusion that the charged language used here was that; he pointed out that freedom had it's pricehe did this when he noted that "heaven" set prices on everything, freedom being one of the more pricey. and we have to assume these prices are not a form of currency, more like a commitment, or an accomplished task, if you will. and we have to remember, during this time period, religion was huge, huge, huge. catholics, protestants, puritans, and the basic christians. now they all had the belief of god and heaven , this gave paine a lot of followers, most of them being religious in this matter. this particular part in the excerpt pursuaded, just as "charged language" should do, and gave paine, not only followers, but now, believers.
