Maus is a novel which was written by American Cartoonist named Art Spiegelman and this was serialized on television between the period of 1980 to 1991. In this story, the main character, Spiegelman interviews his father about the experiences he had as a Polish Jew and Holocaust Survivor. His works represented Jews as mice, Germans as Cats and Polish people as Pigs. The Holocaust survivors are known to be the Jews who survived the persecution by Nazi Germany and its allies during the period of World War 2.  

They went through a series of tortures from the period when the Nazi Party came into the power in Germany in 1933 till the time Germans were defeated in the year 1945. The Jewish characters In this story, they try to present themselves as ethnic poles and in order to prove that, they try to wear pig masks to their faces which had strings showing at the back. This novel went on to became the first Graphic novel which on the Pulitzer Prize.
