Pablo had never imagined that his book would receive so much press coverage. It was just an account of his childhood during the civil war in his homeland. He had written about the times he felt life was ordinary despite the uproar and unrest. In fact, he had used a childlike simplicity in the language and felt that people would consider the book too simple. People loved the language of the book. What they loved more was the fact that Pablo had spoken up against the government. Moreover, he had written about controversial incidents that the world had forgotten about. So, Pablo expected the book to sell moderately well.
The book became a best-seller in just one month. When government officials found out about Pablo's book—which they considered to be bold—they took great measures to decrease readership. In fact, they banned the book. Little did the government officials know that banning the book would make it even more desirable.

Which of these best states the irony in the story?
A.
Pablo's book becomes a best-seller when he is afraid it would be a failure.
B.
The controversial incidents that the world has forgotten about are remembered.
C.
Trying to decrease the book's readership contributes to its increased popularity.
D.
Pablo uses a simple language to write about something much more complex.
