The continuation and escalation of the Embargo by the United States, despite the global health crisis and the threat to the economic base and health system of Cuba, vividly exposes the hypocrisy and deception of the old mantra of "upholding human rights", as stated by the United States authorities. The violation of the sovereignty and independence of other countries and the imposition of economic blockade are a blatant violation of the universally recognized principles of international law, such as respect for sovereignty and non-interference in each other's internal affairs, which are enshrined in the UN Charter and many international documents.
