2. Enter the spirit of the work—that is, in your poem or song, "what happens."

3. Write down your poem or song's theme or central idea behind it.

4. List the most prominent images and instances of figurative language in your chosen work Then briefly describe the overall function or effect of each.

5. Write about how the meter and rhythm of your poem or song affect its mood.

6. Determine the rhyme scheme of your work, if any, and explain your findings. Then write about  what mood or feeling is created by the use of rhyme, including end rhyme and internal rhyme.  Last, jot down notes about how the rhyme contributes to your work's meaning.

7. As specifically as possible, jot down two or three graphic elements that might work in your  reading guide. Remember that images may include captions.

8. Consider your findings for each of your four sections and write a subheading for each. In  addition, write a main heading for the entire reading guide.

It's pretty slow but like a fast, slow pattern. It's slow. The first 3 lines of the stanzas  have rhyming last words and the last lines rhyme with the next stanzas the last line.

on the other side of the picture, we must learn also to know that guerilla warfare against the germans in, let us say serbia or norway, us; that a successful russian offensive against the germans us; and that british successes on land or sea in any part of the world strengthen our hands.

remember always that germany and italy, regardless of any formal declaration of war, consider themselves at war with the united states at this moment just as much as they consider themselves at war with britain or russia. and germany puts all the other republics of the americas into the same category of enemies. the people of our sister republics of this hemisphere can be honored by that fact.  

the true goal we seek is far above and beyond the ugly field of battle. when we resort to force, as now we must, we are determined that this force shall be directed toward ultimate good as well as against immediate evil. we americans are not destroyers — we are builders.
