Planned buying vs Impulse buying
Source: www. youneedabudget. comPlanned buying is purchasing items after consideration, particularly in relation to need and cost. These items may
range from household goods such as furniture and groceries to trendy items like clothing and gadgets. It is usually
the case that the customer weighs up the pros and cons of buying the product before she or he purchases it.
On the other hand, Impulse buying is buying something that one had not planned on purchasing. It is a ‘spur of the
moment, unplanned act’ and is usually associated with emotions and feelings. While small items like chocolates and
clothing usually trigger impulse buying it is not unheard of that substantial goods such as jewellery and art works
may be also bought on impulse.
