It was a perfectly typical week for Oscar Wilde. Typical may be good for most however for Oscar, typical meant boring. On the night of Oscar's 37th birthday he found himself wishing to be someone else...he forgot to be careful for what he wished for.

                                               Ch.1 A small Perspective

     The sun barely peered through Oscar's thick red curtains. The golden

light gently crept towards his bed as the day aged. It was unusual for Oscar to

sleep in so late. With a deep yawn Oscar opened his eyes and surveyed his

bedroom, looking for his dog Pluto. Once again, it was unusual for Pluto to be

found anywhere other than beneath the silky sheets of Oscar's bed. Two

unusual occurrences for an ordinary man couldn't be a coincidence. Oscar

was quite superstitious, and decided it would be best if he arose. To his

surprise, when he began to get out of bed he found himself to be five feet

away from the bed. "Oh, my" belted Oscar, "what ever has come over my

bed? It seems as though it has been reconstructed to fit a giant!" Pure

bewilderment overcame Oscar as he looked down at the considerable

distance between the bed and himself. Oscar nearly fainted when he

discovered two furry paws in replacement of his hand. "I must be in a fervent

dream! This body is not mine, it appears to be a dog!" yelped Oscar. All

physical properties of a dog had replaced Oscar's human form, except for his

voice. He continued to question reality, assuring himself he was simply

dreaming. Oscar concluded that he would simply go back to bed and wake

up in his natural state.

                                     Ch.2 A horrid dream come true

    Several hours passed, yet Oscar remained vividly awake. He found it

increasingly difficult to fall asleep when his mind raced with the horrifying

possibility that he had died in his sleep and reincarnated into a dog. Oscar

was never a religious man, perhaps this was his punishment for denying God

. The sun continued to burn slowly, and Oscar continued to lay there. At some

unknown time, he decided to leap from his bed onto the floor. It was his

hope that the leap might startle him enough to wake himself up. Oscar had

become overwhelmed with a sense of denial, for it was impossible for a

human to become a dog. "On the count of three" muttered Oscar

"one, two..." Oscar woodenly leapt from the comfort of his silk sheets onto the

cold, firm wood floor.
