I think “Poem to First Love” by Kyle Yeager captures perfectly the feeling of the uncharted territory in front of you at the start of a first relationship. This reminds me that love is fluid, and to love someone and to fall out of love with someone are both gifts in and of themselves. Yeager compares first love to a skyscraper, then saying how it is not the tallest one in the NY skyline. In other words: you may not be the greatest love in my life, but this feeling is have in the NOW is unlike anything i’ve ever felt, and right now you are perfect to me— like how the “Chrysler Building” is the “most exquisitely spired”.
