On the bottom of p. 117 Randy says to Ponyboy: "'Thanks, grease...' Then he stopped. 'I didn't mean that. I meant, 'Thanks kid.'" Why did Randy change his word choice from "grease" to "kid"? What does it mean? Explain in a 3-5 sentences, as if you're talking to someone who doesn't know this book.
