Scientist Daniel Lieberman recently finished a study. He found that running barefoot seems to be better than running in shoes. People seem to be born to run barefoot. Lieberman studied people who grew up running
barefoot. Some were raised in Kenya's Rift Valley. The area is known for its long-distance runners. Lieberman
found that these runners usually land on the front or middle of the foot. Runners who wear shoes usually hit the
ground heel first. Hitting the ground this way may cause more foot injuries. Lieberman hopes his work will
change runners' habits.
