A person uses a hyperbole, which is an exaggeration, to get a point across. Have you ever heard the phrase I've told you a million times not to do (you fill in the blank). The, "I've told you a million times, would be the hyperbole. Personification is when an author or a person makes an object have person/human like qualities. An onomatopoeia is a word(s) that describe an object that sounds like the object. For example, if I were to say drip, you might think of water dripping. Idioms are clichés.
