However, there is something in common, the bride always has a special role being always treated with due respect because it means a new possibility to continue the family. In some places, the groom's family moves in to the bride's village and sets up their house there.
In many places in Africa, women are taught from childhood to being good wives, even learning secret languages passed by older elders so they can only communicate about the problems of marriage without their husbands noticing what they say. Grooms, in general, are prepared early on to be ideal partners. In some tribes the older ones get together with the bride and give her wise advice for a happy marriage. Many girls go to schools where older mothers teach them how to be good wives.
