The noblest Roman of all, as per Marc Antony, was Brutus—one of Caesar's assassins, and now a corpse at Antony's feet. The note of disappointment here is unexpected, no doubt since Antony raised the military which has decimated Brutus.  

However Antony presently comes to praise Brutus, not to cover him. Of the considerable number of plotters, just Brutus thought of the "common good," and had legit aims toward the general masses. The rest simply begrudged Caesar's enormity; Brutus thought it a genuine risk to the Republic.
