So as far as verbal irony and sarcasm goes. lets say my friend and i are talking while playing a video game and i say "i hope this does not take to long" and then whatever it is in the game takes 45mins real is that situational irony or verbal irony?

I would say situational irony since you expect one thing the opposite happened.
