I never meant to make this such a mess. I didn't think that it would go this far- standing here, watching a gun being held up to my mother and my best friend. The gang members- or at least, that's what I assumed they were, had told me that I had to choose. Me or them. My best friend, Brandon, and I had been friends since kindergarten. I want to save his and my mother's life- but I knew they would never forgive me. It goes the same way. How could I, a 17 year old girl, survive on my own without my mother or my best friend? Who appeared to be the leader of the gang stepped forward and told me I had 15 seconds to choose. 15 seconds to decide- would I take my own life to save the others I care about or kill them instead of me. 12. 11. My palms were sweating and tears were streaming down my face. 10. I just want to go home. 9. 8. Go home and sit in bed and not have to worry about any of this. 7. 6. 5. I should've never done that.
