It is ironical that the reason Mona’s son had to keep alive, was the reason that then he dad to finally die. Mona went for the falcon to save his son’s live, but without expecting it, she was ending his life, because she did not know what Federigo was capable of doing just to please the love of his life.  One fact that makes the situation more ironical, it is Mona visiting a man she did not expect to visit once in her life, and she just did it for her son’s life.
