What literary devices are used in "the garden" by franta bass?
here's the poem:
a little garden
fragrant and full of roses
the path is narrow
and a little boy walks along it.
a little boy, a sweet boy,
like that of a growing blossom.
when the blossom comes to bloom
the little boy will be no more.

There is a direct comparison of a boy with the Blossom, in usual life these two figures (boy and blossom) unlikely related to each other, but in this case, they share common characteristics and you can see their relation. They are linked and this is the most common characteristic of a metaphor. This literary device gives a perfect tone to a poem and creates particular mood which athor wanted to share with a reader.
