In Julius Caesar, there's really no way that events could have turned out well for Rome. If Brutus and Cassius hadn't assassinated Caesar, Caesar would have ruled as a tyrant.
EDGAR:
And since they assassinated Caesar, there was a horrible civil war.
RIKU:
It isn't clear that Caesar would have been a tyrant. If you remember, Mark Antony offered Caesar a crown three times, but he refused it all three times.
VICTOR:
True, but it seems pretty clear that that was just for show: something to make Caesar look humble in front of the crowds.
RIKU:
So in a way, Caesar's humble behavior is evidence that he actually wanted to be emperor of Rome. I see what you mean.
