It’s time to sleep. Time to weep.
Time cry.
Time to die.
Time will take
My moment’s away.
And so
I pray.
“Dear God
Turn back the clock.
Help me to survive.
To strive.
I don’t want to live in fear.
Each and every year.
I want to live in peace.
And not live like I’m on the streets.
I don’t want to be in war.
Because I’ve been there, like never before.
I don’t want to live in hatred.
Because, in the end, it’s all related,
To death.
And you watch as it takes away someone’s last breath.
Please, help me.
Help me be free.
And please, don’t throw me back in the sea.
I don’t want to drown
With all the terror all around.
And death coming at me
From all end.
Please God, I beg you,
Please, let me make it through.”

Buck did not cry out. he did not check himself, but drove in upon spitz, shoulder to shoulder, so hard that he missed the throat. they rolled over and over in the powdery snow. spitz gained his feet almost as though he had not been overthrown, slashing buck down the shoulder and leaping clear. twice his teeth clipped together, like the steel jaws of a trap, as he backed away for better footing, with lean and lifting lips that writhed and snarled. read this passage. explain what the conflict shows about buck and spitz.
