They both had had difficult lives growing up, and that had taught them the value of money. Jimmy tried his best to not ask for anything, but it was hard, especially on a day like this. His father was finally coming his way after having talked to a friend at the corner for a couple of minutes. Jimmy gulped and took one last look inside the parlor’s window, for he knew better than to keep on staring. Too late, though. His father had noticed. Jimmy was surprised when he heard his kind voice ask if he wanted some ice cream, or perhaps a popsicle would be nice, since they had to keep on walking. Jimmy smiled. They went inside.
