Every year, the eighth graders at your middle school take a trip to Washington,
D. C. to meet your government representatives and see the important historical
sites. This year, though, your principal is thinking about canceling the trip and using
the money to make some much-needed improvements to the school building. Write
an essay in which you argue for or against canceling the trip,
and give at least two reasons to support your answer.

in the first part of the story running is all that matters to squeaky. running gives her confidence and defines who she is. at the beginning of the story she says that other kids call her mercury because she runs very fast. in the text she refers to herself as "miss quicksilver".
