With this supporting materials activity, you will think of a family member, mentor, or good friend as the
subject for a possible speech you could give. You probably know a lot to say about the person, but what
kind of supporting materials would you use in an actual presentation?
After you think of your person (a subject for a hypothetical or future presentation), you will fully answer the
four questions below. You should find visual aids you could use, possible audio materials that you could
use, and finally anything to pass around to the audience that you could use as supporting materials for a
presentation.
You do NOT have to actually create all of these materials, but simply choose items that you COULD use if
you had to. Fully explain your answers and check the rubric below before submission.
Ten points for each correct answer using complete sentences and proper grammar. Number your answers.
Not paragraph form.
1. What is your relationship to this person?
2. What are possible visual supporting materials that you could use during a speech for the audience to see?
3. What are possible audio materials that you could use during a speech for the audience to hear?
4. What are possible handouts that you could use during a speech to pass to the audience?
