9th grade, pilgrim's progress thing. please help Is Pilgrim's Progress a balanced allegory, or does it lean too heavily on the symbolic meaning? In other words, do all the allusions distract you from enjoying the literal story? Or, do they make the reading experience even more enjoyable and interesting? Why?
