The Exer Branch The executive branch is the part of the United States government that is led by
the president. The president is not the most powerful person in the government.
Congress has more power than the president. The president has to be at every
Meeting of congress. The president gives his thoughts on the state of the United
States at that time. He also gives his ideas about any changes that need to be made.
Congress and the president must be in agreement for things to run smoothly in our
government.
z As the leader of the executive branch, the president is also the head of state.
This means that he is the leader of our government. The president travel to other
countries to meet with their leaders. If something needs to be worked out with
another country, the president tries to discuss it with that country's leader. If they
can't work it out, the president can send troops of armed forces to the ir country.
The president can do this because he is abo he commander in chief of our armed
