Butterfly mommy lays eggs. Then the eggs hatch a few weeks later. The baby butterflies then eat up, getting bigger. When they are bigger, they spin their silk into cocoons to sleep. When they wake up, they eat the cocoon. when they are out, they let their wings dry. (remember, now they are butterflies). When their wings are dried, they go do their butterfly stuff. (can I please get brainiest? I really need it)

first of all, dante wanted to write an account of the search for spiritual atonement and salvation, and this desire drew heavily from dante's own experiences. dante was living in exile while writing inferno and so, much like his poetic counterpart, he felt like he had lost his way and needed direction.
